その定義からオントロジーが何をするのかを理解するために，私たちはオントロジーにおける定義機能の理論的説明を提案する．その説明は，経験的な神経心理学？(empirical neuropsychological studys)に裏付けられる．私たちの目的はこれらの機能がどのように以下のことをモチベートするかを明らかにすることである．(i)オントロジーにおける定義の系統的な包含？(inclusion)．(ii)オントロジーの利用の徳的のコンテキストに対する定義内容と形式の当てはめ．
